General information on the rules related to consent to the use of cookies

Italian legislation (art. 122 of (It.) Legislative Decree 196/03 “Code on the protection of personal data”) introduced a European Directive which requires any operators of websites that use cookies or other monitoring technologies to inform the user about any cookies used by the site.
The Measure by the Privacy Authority for the protection of personal data no. 229 of 8 May 2014, published in the Official Gazette no. 126 of 3 June 2014, categorised cookies in two macro-categories: “technical” cookies and “advertising profiling” cookies.

What are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that the websites visited by users send to their terminals, where said cookies are stored to be then retransmitted to the same sites in case of subsequent visits. Cookies are used for different purposes, they have several characteristics and can be used by the owner of the website you are visiting and by third parties.

Technical Cookies

Those cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the site and to provide the service.
Technical cookies do not require the user’s consent, thus they are automatically installed after accessing the Website.

Analysis and Performance Cookies

Those cookies are used to anonymously collect and examine traffic and use of the site.
Although they don’t identify the user, these cookies, for example, detect if the same user visits the site again at different times. They also enable monitoring the system and improving its performance and usability.
These cookies can be deactivated without any loss of functionality.

Profiling cookies

Duration of cookies

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the person logs out.
Other cookies remain active after the browser is closed and are available in case of subsequent visits by the user.
Those cookies are the so-called persistent cookies and their duration is determined by the server when they are created.
In some cases a deadline is set, while in other cases duration is unlimited.
This site does not use persistent cookies.

The user can decide whether to accept cookies or not by adjusting the settings on his/her own browser.
Warning: the total or partial deactivation of technical cookies can compromise the use of the site’s features.
Disabling third-party cookies, however, does not affect browsing in any way.
